Musical Monday: The MAMA Edition

MAMA’s happened last week, and unlike last year, I did not wake up pre-dawn to live watch it. You shall not trick me again awards show! And looking at some of the videos, while they were interesting, not watching it live was not a super big deal.

I continue to love, love, love SeoTaiji, they did a mash up of some of his hits through the years and I’m kicking myself for still not picking up any of his albums. Maybe Santa will get them for me for Christmas 😉

My Hero, Molly Who Saved CNBlue

If you listen to the podcast, you’ve probably already listened to this story, but since podcasts are not everyone’s cup of tea, and this story is just so awesome, it’s coming in again. I’d like you to meet my friend Molly. Molly, is a superhero. Not kidding, a real life super hero who saved my whole concert experience.

Molly is a brand new addition to the kdrama/kpop world, and she has fallen hard. Super hard. From zero to addict in approximately 3 minutes. Molly is actually a friend of Cherry’s and when she learned we were going to KCON, it didn’t take much (or any) arm twisting to get her to agree to join us. In the days leading up to it, we were mostly excited for CNBLue, BTS, and then of course GDragon. But the main one we all agreed on was CNBlue as, I don’t know if you’re a fan of CNBlue, but here’s the thing, they are good on albums, but when you go to see them live, they take their songs and ROCK OUT. It’s almost like a completely different experience and is amazing.

Soooo Stressed. This can only be solved with one thing:

Fun Friday: A Crooked Remake

This Fun Friday comes from Cherry Cordial. Over in our Kfriends chat, she mentioned that someone on Twitter had sent her a link to someone who had done an English version of GDragon’s Crooked with an almost shot for shot remake of the video.

At first I was leery as my ‘uuuhhh really?’ radar is pretty high. But then I watched and surprisingly? I couldn’t stop watching! Akira the Don is apparently a London based musician, you can check out his blog and post about making the video here.

A Bright Light on a Dreary Day

BigBang is coming! BigBang is coming! Well, not here, but they are coming back! And that’s good enough for me.

How long is too long between albums? I’m not sure if there is an exact science to it, but I feel pretty secure in saying 2 years between albums is way too freaking long. I’d actually begun to believe they weren’t going to be coming back. You know, with everyone off doing their own things, and getting older, meaning it’s almost military time for somebody.

Comin’ Out On T.O.P.

It’s like it’s raining BigBang members up in here (up in here, up in here). And now, free from his self-imposed hiatus, T.O.P’s finally releasing new music! Apparently this release is a little something he’s been cooking up since his movie, Commitment, wrapped filming. According to this slightly creepy promotional poster, not only is new music coming out—it’s due to be released this week. Friday! (Like we need another reason to feel like Friday will never, ever, ever get here.)

Musical Tuesday! The GDragon Edition

Sorry Guys! Moving. Moving. Moving. But as I’m currently ensconced in my lovely new apartment, hopefully I’ll be able to get back to my regularly scheduled programming. Or at least regularly scheduled showering.

And in honor of the ending move, I figured it was only fitting to post GDragon since I’ve been listening to his Coup D’Etat album on repeat for almost the entire experience. At first I didn’t care for the CD–there were too many songs which sounded like the could come from any other artists–and I like GD because his music doesn’t sound like everyone else’s.
