Top Five Favorite Couples of 2014

15 Jan

Graphic favorite couplesWhat do we want? Couples! When do we want them? RIGHT NOW! Seriously, if you don’t fork over good couples, we are fully prepared to riot in the streets. Think I’m joking? Go ahead and try us.

Good couples make me happy. Good couples can go a long way to making a bad drama better or by making a good drama just that much better. Seriously, not kidding, I’ve stuck it through many the bad drama because I’ve loved the couple (one of them being on this very list). What goes into a good couple? Well, good writing, acting, and most especially chemistry between the two actors.

Here’s my list of Top 5 favorite couples of 2014: Continue reading

Top 5 Shows of 2014 That Gave Stephanie Cranky-pants

13 Jan

crankypantsSometimes we hear about dramas so far in advance, we have preconceived notions of what they are going to be, or more importantly, what we want them to be. Then by the time they finally come along and we settle in, ready to be entertained, something happens and pins are pricked in our hope balloons are popped. Or sometimes a we’ll be sitting there, loving the heck out of a drama, thinking it will be the best of the best and then again, that something happens, and our dreams are dashed. This is my list of my most disappointing dramas, or more importantly, dramas which gave Stephanie cranky-pants. Continue reading

Top 5 Dramas Who Missed the Landing

12 Sep

Last weekend I had the…displeasure to finish the TWDrama, In a Good Way. Throughout most of the drama, I really liked it. Yes, it moved slower than a snails pace, and had basically no plot at all, but it was a character driven drama, which is usually right in my wheel house, so that was fine. But then, as the last 4ish episode came in, the drama went and decided to get a plot. A bad one. A plot bad enough to make me very cranky, I believe I posted this online:grumblez

The ending just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Which got me to thinking about all the other dramas that were perfectly enjoyable, until those last few episodes, or even minutes came in and the writers blew the ending for some reason or another.

*Warning, this WILL contain spoilers… Continue reading

Top 5 Porn Food Dramas

26 Mar
kdrama eatingThis post is totally dedicated to you big jerks who made me watch Let’s Eat, fully knowing it was the food porniest food show out there and I was on a diet. I say was on a diet as there is no freaking way there is any way you can watch that drama and not want to eat every time they do. It made me think of all the times this has happened to me. Before Kdrama, I’d heard the term Korean BBQ once–and that was the only knowledge I had of Korean as a food.

Since my indoctrination into Korean culture via these dramas? I now lust after Korean food.

(And tacos as good as Korean food is my life is still dedicated to the pursuit of eating tacos.) Continue reading

TOP 5 Ugly Cries

7 Feb

Bring on the TearsThere’s nothing like a good ugly cry. Now an ugly cry isn’t a *oh, my eyes teared up* or a *awww….that was sad* cry. And it’s not an *I’m so happy* cry either. No, an ugly cry is a good old fashioned cry like someone in your own family has died sort of cry. A cry where if someone else hears you you’d be mortified. Now this sort of cry doesn’t happen all the time, which makes them all the more special when it does. This Top 5 list is a list to celebrate that phenomenon. Continue reading

Top 5 Characters I’d Most Want to Slap

25 Jan

While watching our episodes this week with Operation: Kdrama Chat, we’ve unfortunately reached the episodes where the Evil Wannabe Girlfriend’s storyline becomes more prominent, which unfortunately also means, she gets more airtime. Which makes me cranky as I really, really hate her. Then Laurie said:

Who else would have Bitch slapped wanna be girlfriend, for the insults she was handing out, not just to K but to PJ too? Swear if my fist could reach through the computer to give her weighted bugs bunny smack…. I would have.

I was relieved as, up until that moment, I was afraid I was the only one who sometimes felt the unexplainable urge to reach out and slap a character. So with this knowledge, I realized this was the perfect subject for a Top 5 List.
Now these are not always evil characters. They are not always the villains or Big Bad Kdrama Mamas, those are a definite separate entity and therefore deserve their own list. Nope, these are characters who are so irritating, thick-headed, that the mere sight of them on your screen makes you wish you had the ability to slap the be-jeezus out of these fictional characters.

Biggest Disappointments of 2012

4 Jan

Throughout the year there are shows we get super psyched about from the very first whisper. We scour the news looking for mentions of what we’re sure is going to be the biggest hit of the year for returning stars, returning writers or eve just an interesting premise. Then they land. Splat. We try to hold out hope, hold onto why we were so excited in the first place until every fond memory is gone, leaving only a bad taste.

Bigbig Continue reading
