New Remake Alert!

Fated To Love You 2 Looks like Jang Hyuk is considering coming back to our drama screens! It’s been a while, hasn’t it. (You notice I’m choosing to ignore Iris 2, right? It’s probably best for everyone.) Well, the casting isn’t all official like, it’s more the ‘looking favorably on’. But even if he doesn’t sign on, it’s news enough that they are making a remake of the TWDrama, Fated To Love You.
Now I’ve been tempted to watch the original version of Fated to Love You for a while, but for some reason, have never been able to pull the trigger. I’m not sure why, I heard it’s really cute! I think a big reason is the length–I think it’s 21 episodes and the TWDramas usually come in well over an hour (sometimes up to an hour and a half per episode!!) and the production values can make me cringe–especially the sound.

Bring on the TearsThere’s nothing like a good ugly cry. Now an ugly cry isn’t a *oh, my eyes teared up* or a *awww….that was sad* cry. And it’s not an *I’m so happy* cry either. No, an ugly cry is a good old fashioned cry like someone in your own family has died sort of cry. A cry where if someone else hears you you’d be mortified. Casting News: Jang Hyuk/Daniel Henney

Raise your hand if you’ve seen Iris. I know you can’t see me, but my hand is definitely not raised. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Iris. Consensus is while Iris is not very good, it’s still miles better than its spin-off Athena: Goddess of War. Which doesn’t say much. I hear Iris has one of those frustrating, ambiguous endings and since I’m still trying to figure out what the hell happened at the end of Joseon X-Files, I’m not eager to jump into another one.

There have been rumbles for a while, or at least as long as I’ve been part of the Kdrama community, that the makers of Iris want to do a full on sequel. The rumors have also met with mixed reviews. Continue reading
