Bet you guys didn’t think we could beat last week’s guest- and drama-packed doubleheader episode — and you’d be right! Just kidding. While Cherry and I were both sick and tired, we managed to chat for way longer than we had space for.

Let’s Go Fishing!

16 Dec

three meals a say fishing village

Well isn’t this another funny coincidence? Last week No Min Woo was up in the Khottie battle and news was released on his joining a new drama. This week? Cha Seung Won is up in the semi finals and what do we have? News of his next project.

It seems like I have a very strong magic in my hands. I must remember to use it only for good!

Na PD has picked his next victems! The brilliant antagonist producer of the Grandpas Over Flowers, Noonas Over Flowers, Youths Before Flowers, and the latest Three Meals A Day released information on his next project. As Na PD is a bit of a ratings get (Three Meals A Day, the super basic variety show where his usual target for pain, Seo-jin, matched with Taecyeon have to cook–you guessed it–three meals a day, has received unexpectedly great ratings especially considering it’s a cable show.) everyone has been eagerly awaiting this news. And it’s pretty much as odd as the rest of his shows. Continue reading

Seo In Gyuk Power–ACTIVATE!

5 Jun

master's sunWell here’s some interesting (and when I say interesting I mean awesome) information. Seo In Gyuk has signed on for The Hong Sisters new drama Sun of the Lord.

Why is this awesome? First, I had forgotten about this drama. Gong Hyo Jin and Mr Cheekbones? Yay! A show I can be excited about. Second, I’m a big fan of Seo In Guk. I loved him in Answer Me 1997 and he was really cute in Love Rain. He’s been on the Crazy radar ever since.

I thought I’d seen everything he was in but I just now remembered he was just in the family drama Rascal Sons. Did anyone hear anything about that show? I knew when it was coming out–and then heard nothing–not a great sign. Nothing worse than a meh show. Continue reading

Well here’s some interesting (and when I say interesting I mean awesome) information. Seo In Guk has signed on for The Hong Sisters new drama Sun of the Lord.

Anywhoo. So he just signed onto the new Hong Sisters show, which was apparently humming right along while we weren’t watching considering the fact it now has a title.

Seo In Guk has been cast as a head of security of a shopping mall. Hmmm…. I wonder. Does this mean the show will take place at the mall and mall offices? This is part workplace drama considering the hero is a business man who the heroine works for as his secretary?

So I read this article on enewsworld. And in the article it says that The Hong Sisters are taking over the script on this one. Taking it over? I wonder if this is just a phrase they used meaning writing it or if they actually mean someone came up with the idea and they are going to be the ones writing it. I wonder what that would do for the story? I mean–I guess it doesn’t matter much–but the thought just keeps rattling around in my brain.

I’m actually looking forward to this one and I hope it doesn’t disappoint me. My one consolation was the fact that before Big was released, I liked the cast (or I should say, I liked Gong Yo) but I never cared for the storyline. It was a wait and see for me. In Sun of the Lord, I really like the cast and the premise is really interesting. So I’m throwing caution away and am just going to look forward to this. Yep. I’m in that sort of mood.

Bring on the Awesome, Hong Sisters!

Do’s and Dont’s: Anatomy of a Good K-Kiss

24 May

Rewatching Flower Boy Ramyun Shop has made me think about exactly what goes into a really good, memorable Kdrama kiss. No, not all kisses need to be searching for ones tonsils to be hot–this is Kdrama not HBO. However, for writers out there, here a few Do’s and Don’ts on how to make your kisses memorable.

Do: Be On Cable
Cable channels seem to be a little less restrictive and a little more handsy. In turn their kisses are more realistic and hotter. Examples: Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, I Need Romance 2012, Nine.

Top 5 Characters I’d Most Want to Slap

25 Jan

While watching our episodes this week with Operation: Kdrama Chat, we’ve unfortunately reached the episodes where the Evil Wannabe Girlfriend’s storyline becomes more prominent, which unfortunately also means, she gets more airtime. Which makes me cranky as I really, really hate her. Then Laurie said:

Who else would have Bitch slapped wanna be girlfriend, for the insults she was handing out, not just to K but to PJ too? Swear if my fist could reach through the computer to give her weighted bugs bunny smack…. I would have.

I was relieved as, up until that moment, I was afraid I was the only one who sometimes felt the unexplainable urge to reach out and slap a character. So with this knowledge, I realized this was the perfect subject for a Top 5 List.
Now these are not always evil characters. They are not always the villains or Big Bad Kdrama Mamas, those are a definite separate entity and therefore deserve their own list. Nope, these are characters who are so irritating, thick-headed, that the mere sight of them on your screen makes you wish you had the ability to slap the be-jeezus out of these fictional characters.

Biggest Disappointments of 2012

4 Jan

Throughout the year there are shows we get super psyched about from the very first whisper. We scour the news looking for mentions of what we’re sure is going to be the biggest hit of the year for returning stars, returning writers or eve just an interesting premise. Then they land. Splat. We try to hold out hope, hold onto why we were so excited in the first place until every fond memory is gone, leaving only a bad taste.

Bigbig Continue reading
