YAY, Vampire Scholar! Wait, what? NOOOOOO!

7 Apr

edmzdvhWhat is that sobbing lump on the floor? Oh, pay no attention to that–it’s just me–unable to pick myself up after learning that the one saeguk drama I was actually looking forward to, Scholar That Walks At Night is looking to cast what’s her face, Jin Se Yeon as it’s lead.

Why? Can anyone tell me how this woman keeps getting cast time and time and time again into big name dramas? I used to think that there was no one I disliked more than Cha Tae Won, but whoops, there she is. At least with Cha, he has the good grace to mostly (with the exception of the upcoming The Producers) stay off the tv shows I want to see. But nope, there is Jin getting cast in Bridal Mask, Doctor Stranger. Five Fingers, and Inspiring Generation.

And from buzz on the street? It’s not just me who feels this way. Continue reading

Welcome Back, Yoo Seung Ho!

4 Dec

Heeeeee’s back! Is it just me or has these last two years flown by? Holy smokes! It seems like just yesterday that he slipped away and joined up for his military service. (Why does that sound like he ran away from home to join the circus?) Anyway, he’s gone but he’s back now.

I love the fact that he was so good at the military, getting awards, even getting to the point where he was training people (I have no idea what the actual terminology for any of this is.) It’s like whatever he puts his mind too he’s going to jump in and do well. This video of him getting out also makes me all squishy. Aww…don’t cry Yoo Seung Ho…

Crazy for Kdrama Podcast Episode 13: Kpop Wishes and Kdrama Dreams

19 Nov

Thirteen? Is it unlucky thirteen? We certainly hope not! In response to a voicemail, Cherry and I try to disagree more — or maybe that was just me — and just wait until you hear how many dramas I made my way through the last two weeks.

Crazy For Kdrama Podcast Episode 11: Kdrama’s Second Season

22 Oct

Episode 11! I’m trying so hard to make these shorter — it’s possible I’m fighting a losing battle. I literally cut 45 minutes from this episode. What can I say, Cherry and I are chatty, chatty, chatty. I’m so excited to actually be able to contribute something to the ‘what we’re watching’ section — it’s possible the anticipated shame of announcing I hadn’t seen anything made me sit down and watch something. So, yay!

netflixIt has come to our attention that Netflix has uploaded some new kdrama for your perusal. Now, while it’s not like I can’t watch these somewhere else (as they are sourced by DramaFever and Viki) this is still pretty exciting. It has been forever and eight days since Netflix has added new shows and not only that, they’ve also have dropped a few series. I was afraid that this was a bad sign,  perhaps Kdrama wasn’t popular for them and and, in turn, they were going to drop the line.
But new stuff is in! Check out this link here.

Show Introduction: Flower Boy Ramyun Shop

8 May

Flower-Boy-Ramyun-Shop003Now that we have New Heart under our belts, I’m looking at the review schedule and I’m surprised at all the popular ones coming up. I must have hit a Kdrama watching streak last year. Think I’m kidding? Check it out: Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, Answer Me 1997, Shut up Flower Boy Band, Arang and the Magistrate, Queen In Hyun’s Man.

Holy Moly, that’s some awesome TV.

Up next is Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, the first in the hit Oh Boy series (which includes Shut Up Flower Boy Band and Flower Boy Next Door). While I like Ramyun Shop, it’s not my favorite of the series. It’s really enjoyable and has a pretty smokin’ K-kiss (thank you cable), but the love triangle irritated me a bit as the story went on.*ducks head* I know, this isn’t a very popular feeling, as I know this show is in many a Kdrama fan’s top 3 list. Stop The Presses: Yoo Seung-ho Enlisting in the Army

21 Dec

Operation proposalSo timely and surprising considering I just spent the morning cuddled up on my couch with Yoo Seung-ho, or more specifically Operation Proposal. Not just Operation Proposal, but the exact episode where he goes back to his time in the military. This announcement is also surprising considering how young he is. Most actors or idols wait until the last possible moment to enlist, or are drafted—where the choice of timing is kind of taken from your hands. Continue reading

Gearing up for I Miss You

30 Oct

Missing you

Great day in the early evening! As expected, DramaFever announced today that they will be simulcasting Park Yoochun’s and Yoon Eun Hye’s upcoming drama I Miss You. There has been a lot of buzz about this. I think it’s mainly due to the outstanding cast. Come on. Park Yoochun? Yoon Eun Hye? Together as a romantic pairing? I’m not entirely certain if I care what it was about. I’d watch.

Okay. That’s a lie. I do actually have a lot of criteria for the shows I watch. But with that lead couple, I’d be cranky if it weren’t a subject I were interested in. Luckily, while I Miss You looks super angsty, I really can’t wait to see it. Continue reading
