The Busy Man

27 Feb
Of course this is officially nothing but rumor and speculation, but Joo Won may be coming back to our TV screens—which of course would make him one of the hardest working men in Kdrama. From Bridal Mask to Civil Servant Level 7, to Good Doctor, to musical theater in Ghost, a movie,  and now this possible Japanese remake?  It makes me tired just thinking about it. Seriously—he must run on no sleep.
At this point I’m thinking he’s going to take his military service (when it gets here) as a nice little break.
The drama in question is a remake of a Japanese drama Nodame Cantabile. This is actually weird timing as I’ve actually spent the last couple of weekend watching Japanese dramas. (My views changing from active dislike to—“Huh, not too bad.”) While I haven’t seen the original drama this remake is based on, it has been placed on the TBWList.

There is nothing definite in this casting. This show is in the beginning-beginning stages. Even less certain is the casting of the leading lady. Rumor has it it’s going to be IU who has certainly been raking in the drama screen time with last year’s weekend drama You’re the Best Lee Shoon Shin, and the recently ended Pretty Man.
Is she the female Joo Won?
The casting of IU certainly shows exactly where they are going with the character as IU seems to only specialize in playing the one role—plucky, cheerful ingenue. I’d say I’m not a fan, but the only thing I’ve seen her in is  Dream High, and she was very good in that. But I do tire of actors who have one role up their sleeves.
The casting of Joo Won though? That character could be anyone—I’m fairly certain Joo Won could play anyone. We’ve already seen him do it haven’t we? As flawed as the drama ultimately was, I know I will never be able to forget his portrayal of the conflicted Kangto in Bridal Mask.
The drama is tentatively scheduled for the latter part of the year so I’m sure there will be lost more talking of possible casting, plotting and what nots.

But for now? Consider me totally excited for this!
